Salmon River Guided Kayak Tours
Safari Town’s Salmon River Private Guided Kayak Tours are by far the most popular guided kayak tours that we offer! The Salmon River kayak tour even beats out our Siletz Bay Wildlife Refuge Kayak Tour in popularity. Guests often ask what is it about the Salmon River that makes it such a popular kayak tour? The Salmon River meets the pacific ocean right at the base of Cascade Head. Guests experience the coastal mountain headlands, the pacific ocean, and the Salmon River Estuary all coming together in one unbelievable place.
Guests have views of the Pacific Ocean, Cascade Head, Three Rocks, God’s Thumb, and more! The Salmon River is also one of the least developed estuaries in the state of Oregon. The Salmon River Estuary is in the Cascade Head Scenic Research Area. The first designated research area in the United States. The 9600+ acre research area was designated by President Gerald Ford in 1974. This designation will help protect this area for future generations to enjoy, while at the same time allow this area to be studied for scientific research purposes for generations to come!
Additionally, the Salmon River Estuary offers guests the opportunity to experience all the beautiful scenery and breath taking views, and at the same time experience the abundant wildlife that live in the estuary. Wildlife we typically encounter may include harbor seals, sea lions, river otters, Roosevelt elk, bald eagles, pelicans, osprey, peregrine falcons, herons, egrets, and countless other shorebirds.
Come experience the Salmon River Estuary with us today! We offer 2 and 3 hour guided tours with group sizes from 2-32 guests. Learn more!
