Safari Town is partnering with the Oregon Coast Community College and Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve. Guests will be kayaking the beautiful Salmon River Estuary led by Biosphere Reserve Staff Scientist Paul Robertson, and Local Marine Biologist Kendal Gile.

Need a Kayak for the Event? Safari Town is offering kayak rental with delivery and pick up. The cost is $70 per person and includes kayak, paddle, life jacket, and waterway access permit for the event.

Guests will paddle in tandem kayaks unless prior arrangements are made with Safari Town.
Kayaks will be delivered to Knight County Park for the event and picked up by Safari Town staff after the event.
If renting kayaks from Safari Town please complete Safari Town's required waiver before the event.

Paddle the Salmon River Estuary, described by the USDA Forest Service as “the best example of a restored estuary on the Oregon Coast,” and explore nationally recognized coastal landscape where tidal marsh restoration has re-opened critical nursery habitat for young salmon. Your guides will be two longtime Lincoln County Residents: Marine Biologist Kendal Gile, and Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve Staff Scientist Paul Robertson. Proceeds from registration fees support both the Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve and Oregon Coast Community College’s community education program. Bring your own kayak (and your own life vest), or rent from Safari Town Surf Shop, which will deliver per-ordered kayaks and life jackets to the ramp at Knight County Park, where the tour launches. (Safari Town is the tour partner of Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve.)
